CSM Geology Museum measurements - The magnetic susceptibilities of 230 hematite and magnetite rock samples from the CSM Geology Museum were measured using a Sapphire Instruments system at 600 Hz.
Bartington Instruments measurements - The magnetic susceptibilities of 32 Martian analog soil samples was measured using a Bartington Instruments system at 465 Hz and 4,650 Hz. Sapphire Instruments measurements - The magnetic susceptibilities of 32 Martian analog soil samples was measured using a Sapphire Instruments system at 600 Hz and 6,000 Hz. Comparison of MS measurements - A comparison of the Bartington and Sapphire measurements is provided, with magnetic susceptibilities measured at 465 Hz, 600 Hz, 4,650 Hz and 6,000 Hz. Custom LCR Meter MS measurements - A wide bandwidth system was created to measure magnetic susceptibility using an LCR meter with a coil and decade resistor. Measurements of magnetic susceptibility versus frequency and temperature are provided, as well as the calibration procedure. |
