HP Vector Network Analyzer 8753D - Complex dielectric permittivity and complex magnetic permeability measurements were made in the frequency domain using an HP 8754D vector network analyzer (VNA) controlled by an external computer. The frequency range of the VNA is from 30 kHz - 3 GHz.

HP 4284 Precision LCR Meter - is used to measure the change in inductance that is then converted into magnetic susceptibility. It is also used for the NonLinear Complex Resistivity Lab System (not used in this study of Martian properties).

So-Low Ultra-Low freezer, Model #C85-5 - is used to get down to Martian like temperatures.

YSI 44006 Epoxy-Encapsulated Thermistors(13) - used to measure temperature inside the freezer

IOtech WaveBook/516A - used in the Low Frequency magnetic susceptibility system. It is also used for the NonLinear Complex Resistivity Lab System (not used in this study of Martian properties).

30Mhz Synthesized Function Generators(2) - used in the Low Frequency magnetic susceptibility system. It is also used for the NonLinear Complex Resistivity Lab System (not used in this study of Martian properties).

Switch/Control Unit - used in the Low Frequency magnetic susceptibility system. It is also used for the NonLinear Complex Resistivity Lab System (not used in this study of Martian properties).

Bartington Instruments(MS2 Meter, MS2B) - used to measure the magnetic susceptibility at 465 and 4,650 Hz.

Coolpix 8700 Camera - used to take pictures to document laboratory procedures.

Coil - used to measure magnetic susceptibilities with the Sapphire Instruments system used to measure all the CSM geology musuem samples and the coil used in the custom LCR meter magnetic susceptibility measurements.

Decade Resistor - used to vary resistance over many orders of magnitude. Used with thermistors to limit current throught the thermistors and used with the custom LCR magnetic susceptiblity meter.

Vacuum - used to dry out samples. Most samples are measured at a water content as close to zero as possible.

HP 54510A&B Digital Oscilloscope(2) - will be part of a system used to measure low frequency dielectric permittivity.

GR 1615A Capacitance Bridge - will be part of a system used to measure low frequency dielectric permittivity.
